A trip to the past

Our history

The name Cedar Creek Recruiting is a nod to our President’s family and their rich business history. It’s clear their entrepreneurial spirit runs deep in his blood. His great, great grandfather immigrated to the United States in 1842 with four of six siblings. Upon arriving in New York, the family made their way West to the wilds of Wisconsin and less than one month after arriving in the US, they became the first recorded settlers of the area now known as Cedarburg, Wisconsin.

The family cabin was constructed along the banks of the beautiful rushing waters of Cedar Creek. This area would become the Cedar Creek Settlement (present day Cedarburg) and these waters would soon prove to be the lifeblood of the new settlement. The family sold land to new settlers who established a grist mill along the crystal clear waters of the mighty creek and soon after four more dams and mills would be constructed in the years following.

In 1873 Mark’s great grandfather constructed a two story building of local limestone which would become the home of one the growing settlements most important stores, the hardware store.

The store was operated by Mark’s great grandfather from 1873-1920 and by his grandfather from 1920-1963.

“The history of our family is very important to me and I’m proud of their pioneering spirit. My mother always made a point of teaching us about our family, the rich history of Cedarburg and our family’s part in the founding. It seemed logical to pay tribute to her and our family by honoring their hard work and perseverance.”

Cedar Creek Recruiting combines this old school work ethic with modern recruiting techniques, guaranteed to find, attract and land the talent you need to grow your business.
